We sat down with the gaffer for his view on the month just gone.

Here we are again, at the end of another month. Sitting 3rd and unbeaten October, you must be pleased?

“Yeah, I mean the league position is what it is. It’s lovely to be in and around it. We won’t overthink that as it’s early doors and teams around us have a few games in hand nonetheless, the goal was to stay up and show we can compete. We are taking each game as it comes and still have lots to work on”.
“The boys have bee absolute class this month, if you asked them they would say we should have won all 5 games. However like I’ve told them less than a year a go we were in the league below so we need to remember that. Unbeaten and to end the month with a 8-1 win against a local team we know well was the perfect way to seal the hard work that has gone into this month on and off the pitch”.

Goals have come from all over pitch with Dan and Brad chipping in last week. How important is it that everyone keeps getting their share of goals?
“This has been very pleasing, I think Oggy scored last night and then we score another form a set piece. We had a chat last night how the back 4/5 have been the most consistent grouping this year and have had an impact at both ends of the pitch. We can rely on 1 or 2 players to get us goals and sharing the goals round and scoring from through avenues on the pitch shows our adaptability which is great to see”.

November is full of home games against some good sides. Can you keep up with the leaders?
“The plus side is the game are all home so it involves little travelling for us. The pitch is looking good. Woody and the team are going to have their work cut out with getting it ready every week so that’s a factor to consider”.
“I think it’s a month that will potentially determine what our overall goals/targets are for the season”.
“We have a full squad available to the point I’m having to leave out a couple of players each week. Morale and confidence is high and we will continue to take each game as it comes. Starting with Bedfont who we owe one after they beat us 4-0 away”.
“A unbeaten month at any level is class, to do it in a new league is even better.  Thanks to all the support we have had this month too. Hopefully another good month to follow”.
