Milton United came out on top away to undefeated Headington Amateurs away on Saturday, and Paul Bedwell had a few key players missing in a game that really he could have done with every player being there, but people do have other commitment's and need to put there work and families first sometimes and its understandable. But on saying that the players that were at the game knew they had a big task in front of them and faced up to the challenge against Headington who are on top form. Milton's new signing Mike Davis did himself proud today in his first start for Milton with two great goals the first goal in the first half a nice low finish on 41 minutes then another goal that was a great battling team effort in the Headington goal mouth that fell to Mike Davis who side footed the ball home neatly on the 87th minute. The Headington Goal was a strike from outside the box that flew through a body of players and gave Craig Griffiths no chance in goal on the 60th minute. Milton missed a host of chances as well today that on a good day would have seen us win this game by far more goals. As well as the new signing playing well with the shortage of players, the chance was given to Milton's youngest player Jason McCabe 17 to play his first full 90 minutes against a really good side, and is starting to show that given his chance he can mix it in men's football and will be confident as the season goes on. The rest of the team were excellent as well with John Stott brilliant at centre back winning most things that was thrown at him. Jonny James and Ben Taylor making great runs up the wing. Daniel Cox Rogers had a great performance in midfield with Ryan Tappin. Everyone of the team put a true grit performance that Bedders and Eric must have been proud of today considering we were short on the ground this was one of are best battling performances of the season well done Lads.
