Going out together

The final game of the season went the same way as most of the previous 45 or so games this season.
The core players put in a valiant effort but sheer lack of match day numbers meant that the result was inevitable.

Having only 11 players, including manager Bedwell, meant it was always going to be a struggle - add in an injured Adam Bruce into the mix meant that to play 10 'fit' outfield players, Bruce swapped with Griffiths to play in goal.

Milton took the lead in a turn up for the books - captain John Stott lobbing the keeper from 35 yards gave the players hope they could actually pull something off. Griffiths and Beech, centre half's, coped with the Bracknell front line for most of the 1st half and when they couldn't, Adam Bruce made a couple of fine saves.
The equaliser came from a corner minutes before half time and the sides went in level.

Second half brought a mix up of positions, which ironically saw Chalmers and Stott both return to centre half. With energy waning and no subs, Bracknell grew as Milton shrivelled and ended up running out 5-1 winners.

A brave effort by the lads, who gave everything throughout the course of the season. Just didn't have the depth in numbers like the majority of the season.

Also, thanks to all those running the club behind the scenes, for ensuring we we able to to play this season.

Hopefully, next season we can build upon the last 3 years with Bedders at the helm.
