Milton United v Moreton Rangers

Going into the game we had a few players away and a few last-minute illnesses, which meant the team was changed around a lot for the first time. The game started well for us, however, Moreton we’re tough to break down and despite having the better chances within the first 15 mins they capitalised on our lack of quality and went 1-0. The rest of the 1st half was a battle and they were very hard to break down. We were disjointed and lacked width within crucial areas of the pitch. A slight change in your personal allowed us to get back to playing how we like and we were rewarded with 2 quick goals by Louis Joyce. We went in 2-1 up halftime with still a lot to prove. After a firm chat and a few substitutions, Milton came out very strong and created lots more chances and was able to have more time on the ball which allowed us to dictate the game. Louis Joyce completed his hat trick and the game looked done. In all fairness to Moreton, they never stopped and were unlucky in spells. They scored their second goal just before the end of the game which made a very interesting few minutes. A very scrapping and disappointing last few minutes were brought to a close by the ref and we managed to take all 3 points. It was not pretty but we got the job done and we dust ourselves off and look to a huge game against Long Crendon on Saturday which we will need to be on our best form.
