Going into the game, we expected it to be competitive after a few first team players had been brought in. We had recently played a competitive friendly with them in pre season, so had a insight on what to expect. The unchanged squad from Saturday started the game in perfect way, we were patient and controlled the game early one. Louis Joyce was on the end of some great chances from som excellent delivery from both Woodley and Mikey yet couldn’t quite finish. The first goal came straight from the training ground and was perfectly worked from front to back ending Mikey playing a great ball to Casey Groves who found Louis Joyce waiting in the box. After a good spell Milton got their second from Freddie Kennedy being found in the box, taking a touch and finding the far corner of the net. The half ended in frustration as Kidlington pulled one back from a moment of laziness from Milton. This was then followed by 5 mins of pressure which resulted in Kidlington arguably deserving a equaliser just before half time.
After half time Milton didn’t make the same mistake again, they came out as they had done in the previous game with energy and conviction. Milton scored there 3rd at a perfect time, Kieran Cooper pressed the ball well and took advantage of a mistake at the back from Kidlington, he then found Freddie Kennedy who took it around the keeper and scored his second.
All credit to Kidlington as they did not stop and caused us problems the last 25 minutes of the game. Tired legs starting kicking in and Milton had to defend as a unit and see the game out which in all fairness they did very well. Freddie Kennedy wins man of the match yet could have been so many more. Thank you to Kidlington for their hospitality as always.
We now look forward to travelling to Southam on Saturday hoping to continue our winning streak.
