at Milton United Football Club

Milton United have appointed a Father and Son Team Gary and Sam Elkins alongside Marcus Brown and Sam Parish to head up the First Team Management for 2019/20 Season.
Ex Professional Footballer Gary Elkins will be Head Coach with Sam Elkins moving into Management alongside Joint Manager Marcus Brown. New Coach and former Oxford United Youth Player Sam Parish Completes the Team.
Gary needs no introduction to those who follow football, with his professional spells at both Wimbledon and Fulham during 80s and 90s. Since leaving the Professional game Gary has been involved in Management Teams at Didcot Town, but he is also known locally for his work with young offenders and first aid training.
Sam Elkins will be making his first step into management and his introduction to the club - I’m delighted to be joining Milton FC , it’s a great club with all the right people, focus & energy to succeed & take the team from strength to strength. Many of you reading this may be aware of my football career so I will keep this short. I started my football career with Crowmarsh Boys & after many offers from various clubs to join their youth squads I picked Reading FC Academy, as it was closer to home plus Brendan Rodgers was a superb manager/coach however at such a young age the pressure proved too much & I choose to leave. I have made approximately 500 appearances for Abingdon United, North Leigh and mainly Didcot Town where in 2018 an injury to my knee put a halt on my playing career. Since the injury I had conversation with Paul Bedwell regarding playing a role with Milton & since Paul moved onto Didcot (congratulations) I knew i wanted to grab this opportunity to step up to the management role at Milton. I’m looking forward to starting my management career and getting the club back to where it should be & look forward to your support.

Sam has also introduced Sam Parish to the Management Team:

Firstly I'd like to thank Sam Elkins for getting in touch regarding a management/coaching roll within Milton United Football Club.
I started my footballing career with Crowmarsh Boys FC, I was soon picked up by Oxford United at Under 9 level being offered contracts all the way up to their Youth Team system at Under 18s. I had a wonderful time there playing with and against some incredible players.
Since 18 I went on trial at various professional clubs as well as playing more local Southern League and Hellenic football. I’ve had good spells at Didcot Town, Swindon Supermarine, North Leigh and Wantage Town.
Due to illness unfortunately my football career came to a halt a few years ago. Since then I’ve been involved with Didcot Town FC as part of their management team
I currently have my Level 2 coaching badges and with my extra added help hopefully the club can push on and get back to where they should be!

Club Chairman Andy Burchette:

We have been working hard to get the right people involved at Milton, the First Team Management is an extremely important part of the Club. Losing Bedders (Paul Bedwell) to Didcot Town (where we wish him all the best!) just knocked us back on our heels for a while. But we have bounced back quickly, found and appointed a new exciting Management Team that will enable us to go forward with confidence.
