Club Update.

The 2018/19 Football season has come to a close during which we have been extremely busy. We are now taking stock of the club and the team’s achievements and looking at the future challenges. Much of what we are undertaking is being influence by the dramatic changes to our area. Many will know that we are being surrounded by 2 housing developments and we will also be affected by the expanding school. We have worked on positive relationships with all the stakeholders to ensure that together with the Parish Council we achieve the best facilities for both the community and football club.

In addition to this we are endeavoring to take on more. One of our new projects is the setting up of the Milton Mini Kickers for Under 11 boys and girls starting on Saturday 1 June. Secondly, we are moving our Under 19 boys into adult football, the majority of these boys have been at the Club for 10 years and this season they won the Oxford Invitational A League. Equally successful have been the Milton Ladies. Their first season as Ladies was seen as a big challenge and they have stepped up. They were runners up in the Thames Valley Counties League and Cup Winners. The junior section also saw successes for the U12s. But it is easy to get carried away with the trophies, the true measure of success is getting more people involved at the club and slowly but surely we are.

The Milton First Team has had an up and down year, finishing within a group of teams mid table, the League has proved to be competitive. We are looking to strengthen and as our youth teams get closer to the adult teams we hope to see our first team’s fortunes improving.

We will be having a busy close season, preparing the pitches and maintain the clubhouse. In next to no time we will start next season and you can keep up with games via our Twitter Site and the Milton United FC Website.

Throughout the Club we are always interested in people who wish to be involved, not just the players but also the people that help make it all happen. You may not think you have anything to offer, however, you may well be surprised at what can be achieved. We have Committee positions available and with the replacement for our Clubhouse on the horizon a huge challenge to help deliver a new Community and Sports Pavillion. Anyone who is interested please contact Andy Burchette Chairman – 07845961276 for a chat!

We hope to see you at the ‘Heights’
