MILTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB SPONSORSHIP
Milton United FC is a FA Charter Development Club that facilitates football to Step 5 level at ‘The Heights’ Potash Lane, Milton. The Club has Two Senior Mens Teams, One Veterans team, One Ladies Team, 5 Youth teams plus Mini Kickers. Milton United First Team plays in the UHLSport Hellenic League, a high standard amateur league where we play large Town teams from across the Thames Valley. We also enter the FA Cup and FA Vase competitions.

Milton United FC is the host venue for District and County Schools Representative Matches. It is also used by a further 2 Senior Teams for Sunday and Veterans Football. The Club is run by a Committee in line with its Constitution and is a ‘not for profit’ organisation. It is supported by unpaid volunteers who work to maintain what is locally regarded as some of the best grassed floodlit pitches in Oxfordshire. Additionally all the Managers and Coaches are volunteers who freely give up many hours of their time to coach all levels and ages in a healthy and safe environment.

Within the community the Club supports the Damascus Youth Group, Vale School Holiday Programme and provides support to the Milton Bowls Club and counts residents of the Home Farm Trust among its members. Last summer we held the Downs Syndrome Oxford Charity Football Festival, the club helped this small local charity raise over £1300 which is by far the most successful fund raising event for the DSO and one which we are keen to repeat. It is a well used facility for local social events particularly as we are able to offer individuals a venue where costs are affordable. Additionally, we have an excellent relationship with our neighbours at the Milton Heights School – St Bliase who regularly use our pitches.

To facilitate our activities we operate as a small business. We follow the same rules for business - such as Licensing, Food and Hygiene, Health/Safety and accounting. For the sport side we are incumbent to cover Safeguarding of our Children, CRBs, First Aid and safety/quality of the playing surfaces.

We generate income via Bar and Kitchen sales, running tournaments, sponsorship, playing/membership subscriptions and grants. However, our abiding aim is to ensure this excellent Club with its facilities are well used; therefore cost should not present an obstacle to anyone who wishes to play and participate.

There are rewards associated with our activities, the Vale School Teams have won a number of National Schools Cups, we believe Milton United has help play a part in that. Our youth section is steadily growing and getting stronger. We are attracting more and more local players to the game and we hope that we will soon run a Ladies Team within a local League.

This season we hosted no less than 7 Cup Finals at ‘The Heights’ all of which were run by our volunteers. These Finals were hosted on behalf of the Hellenic and North Berks Leagues plus the English Schools FA. We also successfully hosted a Veterans Over 50s Tournament – the first in Oxfordshire featuring a England representative team.

Last season our First Team won the UHLSport Hellenic Div 1 East Title and have now gained promotion to the Hellenic Premier Division. We are a club that will be competing against large Town Teams and we are also entered into the FA Cup and FA Vase.
